7 Week Chakra Balancing Yoga + Aromatherapy
An Intermediate - Advanced course designed to take your practice further in the format of the Chakra stytem
According to yoga tradition, the subtle body is a part of you that you can’t see or touch—it’s where your energy flows, which is why it’s also referred to as the energy body. There are seven key points in the subtle body that are thought to be vortexes of energy, known as chakras. When energy becomes blocked in a chakra or wheel of energy, it triggers physical, mental, or emotional imbalances that manifest in symptoms such as anxiety, lethargy, or poor digestion. When a chakra, or wheel of energy is blocked, a well-tuned yoga practice may be helpful to release the prana (energy) through movement. Yoga postures are a great way to release stale or stuck energy from the body because they invite fresh, vital energy back in through poses and the breath.
In this 7 week course we will be learning about the each of the 7 Chakras, the postures that correspond with them and the aromatherapy blends used to help bring balance. This course will be an intermediate to advanced level practice full of strong asanas (postures) and creative fast & slow flow sequences. Expect to move and build up a sweat for most of the course, there will be some Chakra postures which are more passive such as the yin postures swan and shoelace. This course is not suitable for complete beginners but those that are looking to step up their practice and learn postures such as crow, wheel and headstand are most welcome to join us.

- Chakra Week 1 - Standing Postures & Balance + Seated Postures & Ground Work - Long holds
- Chakra Week 2 - Hip Openers + Creative Strong Flow
- Chakra Week 3 - Strong Solar Core + Arm Balance & Twists
- Chakra Week 4 - Heart Opening Backbends + Deep Counter Stretch Forwards Bends
- Chakra Week 5 - Throat Opening Backbends + Shoulderstand variations & Breathe Work
- Chakra Week 6 - Inversions + Deep Yin Postures
- Chakra Week 7 - Inversions + Mediation
Essential oils are the volatile oils found in the seeds, roots, resins, flowers, trees, stems, bark and fruit of plants. These oils are the life force of the plants and have many beneficial and protective properties. Many oils have antiviral, antibacterial or antifungal properties. Some may also soothe inflammation, relax tense muscles or enhance breathing. Essential oils can be used to help balance the each of the 7 Chakras, aligned with Yoga, they can be used as a way to balance the chakras and aid your return to a peaceful, happy and healthful state of being.
Complimentary Chakra tea is served before and after class.
